Tickets are now available for the annual ALIA QLD Library and Information Week trivia night. This is a great opportunity to mingle with some of your fellow students and new grads but also spend some time with people working in the industry – I know someone who secured a placement out of it last year!

Trivia starts at 6:30pm but the doors will be open from 5:30pm for dinner and drinks.
How do I sign up?
- You need to register and pay online
- Our team name is ALIA Students and New Graduates make sure to type this in exactly as it is written.
- Send us an email confirming you have paid so we know how many to expect: firstname.lastname@example.org
- $10 per person for ALIA individual members, sponsors and affiliate associations [ALLA, PLAQ, SLAQ] – note you will need to enter your individual membership number when you register.
- $20 per person if you are not in the above category
Side note: Eight persons per team is the ideal number – but if we go over this we will have two chances at taking out the prize! If you have any questions or concerns please send us an email and we will sort you out.

Calling all Queensland students and new grads!
Come celebrate (or mourn?) the end of Summer and the beginning of a new semester with us at the ALIA S&NG Potluck Picnic! Mingle with friends, colleagues and fellow students and enjoy some al fresco cool drinks and picnic treats.

QLD New Grads and Students!
Do you need somewhere to wind-down after a long year of study? Do you need a break from writing resumes and selection criteria? Or are you itching to tell someone about your new job? Well, look no further because we have something special planned for you.
ALIA Students and New Graduates Group have teamed up with ALIA Queensland to host a “Summer Social” in the city. It will be a chance for you to mingle with your peers and meet with some professionals to talk about all things library-related and celebrate the end of the year.
From 5:30pm we’ll have a couple of fun activities to get the ball rolling and then it is all up to you to chat and be merry.
Canapes will be provided free of charge and you will be able to purchase drinks at the bar.

We’ve assembled a panel of managers from diverse sectors in the library and information profession. Here, you will find out what interview panels really look for and how you can present your skills (transferable and library-related) to your best advantage. Come along, bring your questions and concerns and get expert advice.
Nibbles provided as well as a chance to meet some friendly and experienced managers.

Whether you’re starting on your journey to become an Information Professional, part-way through your studies, looking for that perfect job or been around for a while – the ALIA New Graduates Group for Queensland would like to invite you to our first event for the year. Come and join us at the Ship Inn, Southbank on Thursday 30th January, from 5.30pm. Meet your future colleagues and share your professional New Year resolutions in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. Buy yourself a drink and spend an hour or two in the company of like-minded people.
