The topic for June’s #auslibchat was innovative library marketing. In order to help spread the word, here are the questions:
Q1: What’s a great GLAMR marketing campaign that you have seen or been a part of?
Q2: In your experience, what are some common challenges to marketing library services?
Q3: How does your library or organisation evaluate its marketing efforts?
Q4: Have you undertaken any professional development or education to develop your skills/understanding of marketing?
Q5: How does your organisation market emerging services like data management, digital scholarship, or makerspace tech?
Did you not get a chance to join us on Tuesday, June 5, 9 PM AEST to discuss Innovative Library Marketing? Then take a look at this summary that captures some of the great conversations.
Much of the chat was around the difficulties of effective library marketing, but there were also some excellent tips and sharing of other successful marketing campaigns.
We can’t all be marketing experts, but many participants told of both formal and informal training they had completed and all agreed that giving it a go and learning while you try was important! Others reminded us that you can always enlist the assistance of a true marketing professional.
Thanks to everyone who participated on the night and after.
