We are excited to announce some great news for the Resume Review Service! We are happy to introduce to you the new team behind the Resume Review Service taking over. Sylvia Pilz, Stephanie Morton and Veronica Fitzpatrick will be your new faces running the show behind the scenes. And last but not least, we are also moving to a new email. From now on, you will be able to reach the Resume Review Service at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Resume Review Service has been run by ALIA SNGG for some time now, and gives you the opportunity to have your resume reviewed by an experienced professional. The service has become more and more popular especially in the last year, and when our previous National Resume Review Service Coordinator Blair Gatehouse decided to move on, we took the opportunity to make some changes to how we run things. So no longer will there be just a single person running the whole show, but instead we will have a team sharing the workload. They will also be managing our Job Help Site, which is a great resource for everything related to job hunting (check it out if you haven’t yet!).
We are also moving to a new email, as the email we have used until now is ALIA SNGG’s main email. Until now, this email has been mostly used by the executive team of the group (that includes the convenors, secretary, and the coordinator for the RRS), but as we are changing things up behind the scenes we need more people to have access to this email. To ensure that all information you send to the RRS is kept confidential and safe, we have created a separate account for the RRS which will from now on be your contact if you would like to have your resume reviewed, and all existing data will be moved to the new account as well.
And here is your new team:
Sylvia Pilz is currently the Subject Librarian for Education and recently graduated from Charles Sturt University with a Master of Information Studies. By joining the ALIA students and new graduates group, Sylvia wanted to meet new people and make a positive contribution to the library and information profession by connecting people and resources while overall demonstrating the importance of working together as a profession.
Stephanie currently works as a Library Officer, Metadata and Repository Services at Eddie Koiki Mabo Library, James Cook University, Townsville, QLD. In addition to her role as a National Resume Review Service Coordinator, she is also one of the Social Media Coordinator for the ALIA SNGG Twitter channel and a member of the organising committee for the ALIA New Librarians’ Symposium 9.
Veronica is currently studying a Diploma of Library and Information Services at Sydney TAFE. Veronica hopes to one day work in the GLAMR sector.
Veronica is also one of the Social Media Coordinator for the ALIA SNGG Facebook page and a Regional Coordinator for NSW.
If you have any questions, comments, feedback, or would like to use the service, don’t hesitate to contact the team at email@example.com or reach out to us on our social media channels!
